First Aid Burns Kit

A burn kit typically contains a gel or gel-soaked dressing, a bandage, and possibly other items to ensure a thorough treatment solution. A burn gel is used on minor burns to alleviate pain and cool the wound, and it should be applied directly to the burn to initiate cooling and protection; however, a dressing should still be used if feasible. It is also recommended to first cool the burn by running it under cold water. In the UK, providing burns gel or a specific burns kit is often mandated by law, as employers must perform a risk assessment and offer adequate first aid for recognized hazards, including the risk of burns.
